MacLehose Trail 麥理浩徑
The MacLehose is Hong Kong's greatest long-distance trail, running 100 km across the New Territories.
Section Two, past the Sai Kung surf beaches, is the most loved single stretch.

For the Section 1 start at Pak Tam Chung, take KMB 94 or 96R (96R at weekends and on public holidays only) to the Sheung Yiu stop, or green minibus 7 or 9 to the junction of Tai Mong Tsai Road and Pak Tam Road

Good to know: Distance posts stand at roughly 500m intervals the whole way, M001 to M200. In an emergency call 999 or 112 and give the nearest distance post or a prominent landmark; AFCD also points hikers to the Police's HKSOS app, which works where there is no mobile signal. As of September 2026 there is a diversion on Section 2 near post M021 and a partial closure by the Tin Fu Tsai campsite on Section 9.
