Several names doing the rounds in this month's "new restaurant" round-ups — Hokkien House, Bistrot's Suzette, Il Presidente, QUAN, CHIU San, Backyard Bistro, Canton Library, Yun, Commune Maison, Ankôma, Draft Land's Tsim Sha Tsui outpost and Mother Pearl among them — checked out as already covered elsewhere on this site once we grepped our own archive, so they're not repeated here. What's genuinely new and verifiable this week: a London-style gastropub that landed in Soho on 1 September, and a charcoal-fire restaurant from the team behind Babette and Chouchou landing on Wyndham Street later this month. 1. The Boar — Soho, Central
A proper London pub lands in Soho. The Boar opened at G/F, 55 Elgin Street on 1 September 2026, from the team behind Peel Street wine bar Bourke's, Honky Tonks Tavern and Twist Pasta Bar — a trio that has quietly run this pocket of Soho for years. The ground floor is an all-day bar with more than 20 beers on rotation and a curated range of craft cocktails; upstairs is a fine-casual dining room built around elevated British pub classics.

2. 180º Modern Fire Grill — Central
Live fire comes to Wyndham Street. 180º Modern Fire Grill is the newest project from Hora Restaurant Group — the team behind Central bistro favourites Babette and Chouchou — bringing charcoal-fuelled, flame-kissed cooking to G/F, Yu Yuet Lai Building, 43-55 Wyndham Street this September. The concept centres on live-fire technique, from delicate raw starters to hearty cast-iron mains cooked over the open grill.
180º Modern Fire Grill
The debut menu's cast-iron centrepiece is lamb shoulder skewers with green salsa and bone marrow rice. No firm opening date has been confirmed yet — worth following Hora Restaurant Group's channels before building weekend plans around it. Full venue details →

A Busan-style Korean restaurant specialising in miyeok-guk (seaweed soup), including a premium version with abalone. Address: M/F, 46-48 Granville Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. Listed as "opening soon" since early August; exact opening date and prices still unconfirmed.

Sushi ZanmaiTsim Sha Tsui
Japan's value sushi chain has put up hoarding for its first Hong Kong outlet on Kimberley Road, near an MTR exit — but the operator has not yet confirmed a launch date.

General Provisions by Alfred'sCentral
A day-to-night deli and wine retailer — coffee, pastries and sandwiches by day, rare spirits by night — at 3/F, Forty-Five, Gloucester Tower, Landmark Atrium. Hours are listed (Mon-Fri 8am-9pm, Sat-Sun 9am-9pm) but we couldn't confirm an opening date.

The gelato chain's third Hong Kong location is set to share space with Artemis & Apollo at 9-11 Moon Street, Star Street Precinct, "this September" — but construction was still ongoing at time of writing, with no firm date set.
