Draft Land x nodi: Coffee by Day, Cocktails by Night in Tsim Sha Tsui

Draft Land has spent eight years teaching Hong Kong Island to trust a cocktail that comes out of a tap. Now the "cocktails on tap" bar has crossed the harbour for the first time, sharing a Tsim Sha Tsui address with nodi, the specialty coffee brand already known for its toast-and-latte counters at IFC and Landmark Chater. By day it is coffee and pastries; from 5pm, the taps take over.

What is Draft Land x nodi?

Draft Land is Hong Kong's original cocktails-on-tap bar, opened in Central in 2018 by Antonio Lai — the bartender behind Quinary, Origin and The Envoy — together with Taiwanese mixologist Angus Zou, in partnership with Tastings Group. The format strips ceremony out of the cocktail bar: premixed drinks are drawn straight from a wall of 24 taps by "Draftenders" rather than shaken to order, the same way a pub pulls a pint. A second branch followed on Tang Lung Street in Causeway Bay.

The Minden Avenue shop is Draft Land's first location off Hong Kong Island and its third in the city, and it comes with a twist: rather than standing alone, it shares its ground-floor address with nodi, whose other Hong Kong counters at IFC and Landmark Chater have built a following for toasted sandwiches and specialty coffee. The Minden Avenue space runs as nodi in the morning and Draft Land at night, with a warmer, softer fit-out than the brand's Island branches — cosy corners and a semi-outdoor counter built for lingering rather than a quick pour.

What's on the menu, day and night?

Mornings belong to nodi: specialty coffee, baked goods and its Western-leaning toast menu, the same style that has made its Central branches popular breakfast stops. At nodi's sister counters, toasts and sandwiches typically run around HK$60–70 and coffee from about HK$40–58 — a fair guide to what to expect on Minden Avenue, though the TST menu hadn't been published in full at the time of writing.

From 5pm, Draft Land's list of 24 rotating cocktails on tap takes over, spanning brand regulars like the Thirsty Collins, the chrysanthemum-and-pu'er-tea Guk Bou and the Oolong Tea Collins. The new branch adds its own signatures, including two coffee-forward drinks built with nodi's house blend: the Really Really Dark & Stormy and the Caferoni, plus a branch-exclusive elderflower coffee soda from the nodi side of the counter. Draft Land's tap cocktails have historically run around HK$90–120 a glass at the Central and Causeway Bay branches, and TST pricing is expected to land in the same range.

Why does a coffee-and-cocktail hybrid make sense in TST?

Tsim Sha Tsui's drinking scene has long clustered around Knutsford Terrace and the fringes of Lan Kwai Fong's Kowloon cousin, both known for volume over nuance. Minden Avenue, tucked among the Golden Mile's hotels a few minutes from Schragels' new Kowloon deli, is a quieter proposition — and a day-into-night format gives it a reason to be busy at 9am and again at 9pm, rather than sitting dark until happy hour.

It also gives Draft Land a genuine reason to plant a flag in Kowloon rather than simply cloning its Island branches: nodi's coffee culture supplies the daytime crowd, and its house blend feeds directly into two of the new cocktails, so the pairing isn't just a shared lease but a shared ingredient list.
