A retail-and-drinks week, more than a food one. Most of the venues currently topping Hong Kong's "new restaurant" round-ups — Yusang, Taekwang Steel, Pici's Yuen Long branch, Sangeetha's Central outpost, Ponentino and Schragels' Tsim Sha Tsui flagship among them — checked out as already open for anywhere from one to six weeks once we verified them against primary sources, so they're covered elsewhere on the site rather than repeated here. What's genuinely new this week: a cocktails-on-tap bar sharing a shopfront with a specialty coffee brand in Tsim Sha Tsui, a vegan bubble tea label's biggest bet yet in Lan Kwai Fong, a quietly-opened Fujianese fine-diner in Central, and Japan's best-loved lifestyle retailer finally coming back to Hong Kong after 15 years away.
1. Draft Land x nodi — Tsim Sha Tsui
Coffee by day, cocktails by night, under one roof. Draft Land's first venue off Hong Kong Island opened on Minden Avenue in Tsim Sha Tsui on 3 August 2026, sharing its ground-floor shopfront with specialty coffee brand nodi in a genuine day-to-night handover: nodi runs the space from 8am to 5pm with its own coffee and baked goods, before Draft Land's signature cocktails-on-tap take over for the evening. The Kowloon debut marks Draft Land's third Hong Kong location after Central and Causeway Bay, and its first collaboration of this kind — the two Tsim Sha Tsui-exclusive coffee cocktails on the list, Really Really Dark & Stormy and Caferoni, are both built on nodi's house blend.

Founded in Taipei by mixologist Angus Zou and Hong Kong bar veteran Antonio Lai, Draft Land is known citywide for serving pre-batched, consistently mixed cocktails straight from the tap. nodi opens 8am–5pm; Draft Land takes over for evening service.
2. Mother Pearl — Lan Kwai Fong
A boba brand's biggest swing yet. Vegan bubble tea label Mother Pearl, which launched in Hong Kong in 2020, opened a two-storey flagship on D'Aguilar Street in Lan Kwai Fong in early August — and used it to move well beyond boba. Upstairs, the brand's first-ever cocktail bar, Crafted Bar, serves mixology built on botanicals and "functional" ingredients like pearl powder and aged chenpi, including The Price of Time (HK$499/HK$1,999), an oversized sharing cocktail built with Johnnie Walker whisky that ranks among the priciest pours in the city. Downstairs, it's Mother Pearl as usual — vegan bubble tea, espresso and wellness drinks — plus a new line of sugar-free vegan gelato made with oat milk.

The upper-floor Crafted Bar menu runs to savoury sharing bites too, including a Curious Burrata (HK$282) with house-made chilli crunch; all signature cocktails come in alcohol-free versions.
3. Quan — Central
A quiet arrival for Fujianese fine dining. Chinese fine-diner Quan has recently opened on the 5th floor of CCB Tower in Central, specialising in Min — or Hokkien — cuisine from Quanzhou, the ancestral hometown of executive chef Justin Yang. Yang, runner-up on the Chinese culinary television show The Divine Dish and a recipient of the Michelin Guide and Black Pearl Restaurant Guide's Young Chef Award, builds each dish around what the restaurant calls "five elements" — precise seafood sourcing, exact temperature control and a deliberate showcase of Fujian technique. The opening was low-key enough that it went largely unremarked by Hong Kong's dining press until early August, despite having soft-opened weeks earlier.

4. LOFT — Mong Kok East (opening imminently)
A 15-year comeback. Japanese lifestyle retailer LOFT is preparing to return to Hong Kong for the first time since 2011, with a one-year pop-up store at MOKO in Mong Kok East due to open later this August — an exact date had not been announced at the time of writing, though hoardings reading "Opening in August" are already up at the site and the brand has begun hiring sales staff online. The launch is being handled by YAICHI, the same local distributor behind 3COINS' recent Hong Kong debut. LOFT previously ran a Pacific Place store that closed in 2011 and a shorter-lived Causeway Bay branch in the 1990s; the retailer now operates more than 177 stores across Japan, known for its stationery, beauty products, kitchenware and design-forward lifestyle goods.

A one-year pop-up rather than a permanent store — worth a visit for its famously dense, browsable displays while it's here. Exact opening date to be confirmed; follow LOFT's channels for the announcement.
