Below the slopes of Lantau Peak, thirty-eight towering timber columns are inscribed with the verses of the Heart Sutra in the calligraphy of the late master Jao Tsung-I.

Arranged in a figure-of-eight to symbolise infinity, it makes a contemplative coda to a visit to the Big Buddha.
