wave to earth returns to Hong Kong on Wednesday 18 November 2026 for the pieces tour. The night is all standing at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10, general tickets start at HK$799 face value, VIP packages start at HK$1,699, and Cityline has been selling them since 28 May. The decision left for a reader today is not whether tickets exist. It is whether the Meet & Greet VIP is worth the jump over Early Entry & Soundcheck, when to redeem the physical ticket that unlocks on 4 November, and how early the Hall 10 holding area will matter for your queue number.

When and where is wave to earth playing in Hong Kong?
One show: Wednesday 18 November 2026, 8:00pm, at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10, next to Hong Kong International Airport on Lantau. The promoter is Live Nation (HK). The official Cityline listing and the venue page both describe it as all standing.
Hall 10 is the same indoor standing floor used for several Live Nation AWE shows this season. Door times on the day can still move for safety or weather; Cityline says the organiser may change them.
wave to earth - the pieces tour, Hong Kong
Figures checked against the Cityline wave to earth listing and the AsiaWorld-Expo event page, 2 November 2026. Confirm live inventory and any day-of door times before you travel.
How much are wave to earth Hong Kong tickets, and what does VIP add?
Cityline publishes two headline bands: general standing from HK$799, and VIP packages from HK$1,699. On top of face value, the public-sale service fee is HK$50 per ticket. Budget for that before you compare packages.
Published ticket tiers
| Ticket | Face value | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| General standing | From HK$799 | Standing entry; queue number decides holding-area order |
| VIP M&G package | From HK$1,699 band | Standing ticket, pre-show group picture with the band (group of 6), soundcheck access, VIP-only merchandise package, early entry (1st tier), exclusive merchandise lane if merch is on site |
| VIP Early Entry & Soundcheck | From HK$1,699 band | Standing ticket, soundcheck access, one VIP-only merchandise item, early entry (2nd tier), exclusive merchandise lane if merch is on site |
Source: Cityline listing, checked 2 November 2026. VIP experience timings are confirmed closer to show day on Live Nation HK channels; latecomers are not admitted to VIP activities and unredeemed benefits are forfeited.
The useful split is not “VIP or not” as a brand. It is 1st-tier early entry plus a group-of-six Meet & Greet photo (VIP M&G) versus 2nd-tier early entry with soundcheck and a single merch item (Early Entry & Soundcheck). The photo is not a private one-to-one. If you only care about being near the stage, a low general queue number can matter more than a VIP laminate. If you want guaranteed earlier hall access and the merch bundle, pick the package that matches the tier you want.
Tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Lost or damaged tickets are not reissued. Maximum six tickets per transaction on the public sale.
Standing queue numbers and the holding area
This is the part most press write-ups skip, and it decides your night more than the HK$799 headline.
AsiaWorld-Expo and Cityline publish the same standing-zone rules for this show:
- The holding area opens about four hours before show time (so around 4:00pm for an 8:00pm start), subject to change on the day.
- Standing ticket holders queue by zone/section and the queue number printed on the ticket and confirmation email. That number is generated automatically after each successful purchase.
- Hall admission for standing starts about two hours before show time, by queue number.
- Once hall admission has started, the printed queue number stops counting. Arrive late and you enter only after everyone already in the holding area has gone in.
Express lanes are available for people not carrying bags or backpacks, when the venue opens them. Expect a handheld metal detector check and a security wristband. Re-entry needs the re-entry token, the original ticket and the wristband.
Bags, age limits and who should skip this show
Standing is restricted to people aged 12 or above who are also at least 140 cm tall. Cityline is explicit: there is no refund if you are refused at the door for age or height. Anyone under those limits should not buy this show at all; there is no seated alternative on the listing.
Bag rule: nothing larger than 38 × 30 × 20 cm. Professional cameras, video or voice recorders, stools, folding chairs and long umbrellas are barred from the hall. Restricted items go to the baggage counter or ground-floor lockers. No outside food or drink, no selfie sticks, no balloons, no drones. The performance may use strong strobe lighting and smoke.
Physical tickets are not day-of e-tickets only. Self-redemption at Cityline ticketing kiosks (Redeem Code and Redeem Password, or the app Redemption QR) and delivery both start from Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 12:00nn. That window opens two days after this guide was checked. Leave a buffer before show day; the venue has a limited number of kiosks.
Getting to AsiaWorld-Expo on show night
The venue sits at Hong Kong International Airport on Lantau. The Airport Express stops at AsiaWorld-Expo Station inside the complex, which is why this is usually the cleanest big-venue trip in the city. From Hong Kong Station the adult Octopus / contactless / QR single is HK$120 (Smart Ticket HK$130); Kowloon is HK$105 / HK$115; Tsing Yi is HK$73 / HK$80. Airport Station to AWE is only about two minutes and HK$6.5 adult on Octopus.
If you use the same Octopus, contactless card or e-wallet QR for a same-day return and stay inside AsiaWorld-Expo for at least one hour between exiting and re-entering the station gate, MTR publishes a Special Same Day Return rebate: Hong Kong Station HK$85 adult all-in, Kowloon HK$78, Tsing Yi HK$53. Full same-day return without the one-hour stay is still a free return at the single fare. Details and exceptions sit on the MTR AsiaWorld-Expo Airport Express offer page.

Same season at AWE: Joji, Khalid and FKJ
wave to earth is the first of a dense late-November / early-December AWE standing run. Treat these as alternatives if Hall 10 on 18 November is the wrong fit:
- Joji: SOLARIS on Sunday 29 November at Runway 11 (Hall 11), standing from HK$699 face, VIP from HK$1,999, HK$100 Cityline fee.
- Khalid: It’s Always Summer Somewhere on Tuesday 1 December at Hall 10, 8:00pm, standing from HK$699 face via Cityline (VIP from HK$1,999, HK$50 fee on the public sale). Physical tickets from 10 November.
- FKJ: Tyber Tour on Thursday 3 December at Hall 10, standing from HK$799 face via Cityline. Physical tickets from 11 November.
Skip wave to earth if anyone in your group is under 12 or under 140 cm, if you need seated viewing, or if you refuse an all-standing floor with strobe and smoke. In that case look at seated stadium dates on our wider calendar, or pick a different night rather than hoping AWE will flex the rule. If you want outdoor pop-punk instead of indoor dream-pop, Simple Plan at AXA Wonderland on 1 December is the same-calendar fork as Khalid, not as wave to earth, but it is the main non-AWE alternative in that cluster.
