This October, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is stitching all of it together into the city's first official citywide Halloween celebration, branded "Ultimate Cosplay Halloween," spanning nightlife districts, shopping streets and both of Hong Kong's theme parks.

What is "Ultimate Cosplay Halloween"?
"Ultimate Cosplay Halloween" is the Hong Kong Tourism Board's first officially coordinated, citywide Halloween programme, announced on 10 August 2026. Unlike previous years, where each district and venue ran its own celebration independently, HKTB has strung these together into one month-long programme, with every participating district running its own theme and local collaborations.
The calendar unfolds in two stages. Saturday 17 and Saturday 24 October are pre-heat weekends, giving costumed visitors an early chance to explore participating districts, before everything builds to a peak on Halloween night itself, Saturday 31 October, when HKTB says multiple corners of the city will become "distinct festive hubs."

Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo remain the heart of Hong Kong's Halloween night, with HKTB promising "exciting parties and themed dining deals" across both — districts that have effectively been the city's unofficial Halloween street party headquarters for years. Across the harbour, Knutsford Terrace in Tsim Sha Tsui gets its own dedicated promotion this year, with more than 30 participating bars and restaurants along the strip — a comparatively less crowded option if you'd rather not fight for space on the night itself.

HKTB is pointing shoppers to all three as reliable spots for costume sets and accessories, whether you're after a last-minute fix or something more elaborate. Sham Shui Po especially is worth an early visit — wholesale stock tends to sell through quickly in the run-up to the big weekends.
What about the theme parks?
Hong Kong's two theme parks are both running their own extended Halloween programmes, folded into the citywide celebration.
