Halloween in Hong Kong means Lan Kwai Fong: the sloping Central bar district closes to traffic and fills with tens of thousands of costumed revellers. It is free to join, and the spectacle is the crowd itself.
What is new for 2026 is that it is no longer the only official option. HKTB has named five hubs for Hong Kong Halloween Month, and Lan Kwai Fong, run with the LKF Association, is the most crowded of them by design. If the crush is not what you want, Statue Square Gardens and Chater Road in Central is open ground a few minutes' walk away, and Kai Tak Sports Park's Dining Cove has far more room, though its party runs on different dates (24–25 and 30–31 October). Our citywide Halloween guide sets out all five and which suits which kind of night. Hub locations, dates and the costume condition were checked against HKTB's announcement on 5 October 2026.
Event Essentials
What to expect
Packed, costume-heavy street crowds, bars spilling onto the pavement, DJs and a genuinely electric atmosphere on the main nights. It gets extremely busy: go for the spectacle, not for a quiet drink.
Beyond LKF
Ocean Park's Halloween Fest and Disneyland's Halloween season run through October for a more family-friendly (and scare-maze) take. For grown-up nights out, the rest of Central and Wan Chai join in too.
