Central is not short of rooftop bars, but very few sit this high or this central. Cardinal Point crowns Forty-Five at The Landmark (置地廣場), trading on a knockout sky terrace and a 360-degree sweep of the skyline. For summer sundowners with a view, it has quickly become one of the district's most talked-about addresses.
What is Cardinal Point?
Cardinal Point is a rooftop bar, restaurant and open-air sky terrace from Leading Nation Hospitality, perched at the top of Gloucester Tower at The Landmark. The interior is sleek and clubby; step outside and the terrace opens onto a panoramic view across Central to Victoria Harbour and the hills beyond.
It's pitched as a day-to-night venue: lunch and lazy afternoons give way to cocktails, a resident DJ and a buzzier crowd after dark. That flexibility is part of the appeal — it works for a long boozy lunch, a sunset date or a late one with friends.

Where is it and how do you get there?
Cardinal Point sits at the top of Forty-Five, the dining-and-drinking floors of Gloucester Tower at The Landmark, 15 Queen's Road Central. The bar and terrace occupy the upper level, on the 45th floor. It could not be more central: the nearest MTR is Central, Exit G, which feeds straight into The Landmark's atrium, so you can ride the lifts up without stepping outside.
That location makes it an easy add-on to a night out — dinner in Central, drinks up here, then on to Lan Kwai Fong or Soho. If you're building a bigger evening, our Hong Kong nightlife guide maps out the routes.
The drinks and the view
The cocktail list takes "the spirit of travel" as its theme, curated by Leading Nation's group beverage director John Nugent. Expect well-built drinks that nod to flavours from around the world, backed by a premium wine cellar and a menu of globe-trotting dishes — Asian highlights alongside international classics — if you want to make a meal of it.
However good the glass, the real headliner is the outlook. Time your visit for golden hour: the terrace faces out over the towers of Central, and as the sun drops the harbour and Kowloon skyline light up. It is, plainly, one of the best free shows in the city — you just have to buy a drink to watch it.

Good to know before you go
Book ahead for the terrace. Outdoor tables at sunset are the hottest seats in the house, and weekend evenings fill fast — reserve through the website and ask for an outdoor spot if the weather looks kind. In summer, an early-evening slot beats the midday heat.
Smart-casual is the safe call for dress, and prices sit at the premium end, as you'd expect for a 45th-floor address — though regulars rate the cocktail list as fair value for the location. Pair it with another Landmark favourite in our look at Central Table at The Landmark for a full Central evening.
