After four and a bit years anchoring the food hall at Wan Chai's Lee Tung Avenue, the Roganic-group bakery-bistro is packing up its ovens and moving one MTR stop over to Leighton Road in Causeway Bay. The team has confirmed a targeted opening window and a firm closing date for the current site, so here's exactly what's changing, when, and what happens to the Wan Chai space in the meantime.
1. Why is The Baker & The Bottleman moving?
A change of neighbourhood, not a change of concept. The Baker & The Bottleman opened in January 2022 inside Wan Chai's Lee Tung Avenue as the bakery-bistro offshoot of the team behind Roganic, the modern-British fine-dining group with outposts in Hong Kong and London. The format has always split the day in two: fine-dining-calibre pastries and bread service by daylight, then a heartier, meat-forward sharing menu once night service begins. That format is staying — only the address is changing, to a new site on Leighton Road in Causeway Bay.

2. Four years on Lee Tung Avenue
The Wan Chai chapter isn't over quite yet. Before the move, the bakery-bistro is currently hosting an extended meat-grill pop-up collaboration with Marrow, running until 30 September 2026 — a last hurrah for regulars before the site goes dark. The daytime menu has built a following on fine-dining-standard pastries with British influences, while the night-time programme leans into a meatier, sharing-plates style more in keeping with a bistro than a bakery counter.
Lee Tung Avenue, the pedestrianised retail strip built on the old "Wedding Card Street," has been home to The Baker & The Bottleman since its January 2022 opening. Causeway Bay — one MTR stop east — gives the concept a busier, more retail-dense neighbourhood and, going by the timeline the team has shared, a larger or better-configured space to work with. No word yet on whether the new site will expand seating or add anything to the menu; we'll update this page once the exact address and opening date are confirmed.
