Founded by Cistercian (Trappist) monks, Our Lady of Joy Abbey sits in the green hills of north Lantau above Discovery Bay.

The cloister is closed to visitors, but its peaceful Pax Intrantibus garden is a favourite rest stop on the Discovery Bay-to-Mui Wo trail, reached on foot or by kai-to ferry from Peng Chau.
