Getting there
MTR East Rail Line to Racecourse Station, which opens on race days only; the station exits straight into the racecourse. Fo Tan Station (about 15 minutes' walk) is the non-race-day alternative

Public Enclosure HK$10, paid by Octopus at the turnstile (extra fee for the special betting zone). Overseas visitors aged 18+ with a passport get Public Enclosure entry free; a visitor Members' Enclosure badge is HK$300 on regular racedays and HK$400 on major racedays

No advance ticket needed for the Public Enclosure; hospitality and Members' Enclosure packages via the HKJC racecourse booking site
Good to know: Slippers, flip-flops and plastic footwear are refused even in the Public Enclosure, and nobody under 18 is allowed into areas where bets are accepted. Not every weekend is a Sha Tin meeting — fixtures alternate with Happy Valley, so check the HKJC raceday calendar first.
