The Netflix comedian who once did stand-up for 1,001 nights in a row is coming back to Hong Kong for one night only. Sammy Obeid brings his WIT SUPREMACY Tour to Soho House Hong Kong on 27 October 2026, a little over a year after his last Hong Kong show.
Who is Sammy Obeid?
Sammy Obeid is a Lebanese-Palestinian American comedian born in Oakland, California, who double-majored in Business and Mathematics at UC Berkeley before turning down a job at Google to pursue stand-up. He is currently the host of Netflix's 100 Humans, and has appeared on NBC's Last Comic Standing, America's Got Talent and TBS's Conan.
Obeid holds an unusual world record: he performed stand-up comedy for 1,001 consecutive nights, a streak that ran from 26 December 2010 to 21 September 2013 and broke the previous record on day 731. The feat was covered by both Time magazine and The New York Times, which described his style as "an analytic style full of wordplay, clever misdirection and ethnic humor riffing on his Middle Eastern roots."
What to expect from the show
Billed as WIT SUPREMACY Tour, the Hong Kong stop — titled High Key in Hong Kong! — promises "razor-sharp cultural observations, lightning-fast crowd connection, and brilliantly crafted storytelling," according to the official event listing. It's Obeid's second visit to the city in just over a year, following his September 2025 show, Catch Me in Hong Kong!, also staged at Soho House.
The set runs 90 minutes and is performed entirely in English. Soho House Hong Kong is a private members' club, but this show is open to the public — non-members can book tickets directly through Eventbrite rather than needing a membership or a member's invitation.
