Three of the biggest concerts Hong Kong sold tickets for in 2026 never took place, and only one of them is asking anything of the people who bought seats. Sammi Cheng ticket holders who cannot make the new dates in May 2027 have until 14 October 2026 to ask for their money back. Miss that and the refund option closes. The other two shows, Post Malone and Charlie Puth, refunded automatically without anyone lifting a finger.

The useful distinction is not which show was postponed. It is whether the refund comes to you or you have to go and get it, because only one of the three works the second way.

Sammi Cheng: the one with a deadline
The three Kai Tak Stadium nights that were meant to close the "You & Mi" Asia tour on 10, 11 and 12 July 2026 did not happen. The organiser, Media Asia Entertainment Limited, has since published replacement dates: 28, 29 and 30 May 2027, each at 7.30pm, at the same venue. The mapping is one for one, so a Friday ticket becomes the Friday, the Saturday becomes the Saturday and the Sunday becomes the Sunday.
If you are going, there is nothing to do. An intact original ticket with its stub gets you in, and you sit in the seat printed on it. No registration, no exchange, no reissue.
If you are not going, the arrangement is different in a way that catches people out. Refunds are not automatic. You have to apply through the platform you bought from, and the window opened on 3 September 2026 and closes on 14 October 2026. A ticket still in your drawer on 15 October is a ticket for a concert in May 2027, whether or not you will be in Hong Kong for it.
Two practical notes that the notice buries. Anyone who never collected a physical ticket has to collect it first, from the original ticketing platform, before either option is available; leaving that until October is cutting it fine. And all three nights were sold out at face values of HK$880, HK$980, HK$1,280, HK$1,380, HK$1,680 and HK$1,880 before the service fee, with the HK$880 and HK$1,280 tiers carrying some restricted-view seats.
Here is the case for doing nothing at all. These were the hardest tickets of the Hong Kong summer, gone in minutes on 28 April 2026. If May 2027 is even plausible for you, a refund hands back a seat that will not return at face value, and there is no general sale planned because the existing holders keep their places. Post Malone: no new date, money already moving
Live Nation Hong Kong's notice says the Hong Kong date of The BIG Stadium Tour, set for 16 September 2026 at Kai Tak Stadium with Don Toliver supporting, has been postponed. It gives no reason and names no replacement date, and none had appeared by 28 September 2026.
Refunds started before any of that was settled, and they cover the full ticket price. Tickets ran from HK$699 to HK$3,199, including two VIP packages. HK Ticketing said it would return the ticket price together with service and delivery fees within 20 to 30 working days from 4 September 2026, with no request needed. Damai promised 10 working days from 27 August 2026. Trip.com is processing its own automatically.
Work those numbers in calendar terms, because working days exclude weekends and public holidays. Damai's promise ran out in the second week of September, so a Damai buyer with nothing back is now late and should chase. HK Ticketing's outer limit of 30 working days from 4 September lands in the third week of October, which means an empty account in late September is not yet evidence of anything going wrong. Charlie Puth: April 2027, and the presale that survives a refund
The Whatever's Clever! World Tour date of 21 October 2026 was postponed, in Live Nation's words, because of production and logistical challenges. It has been rescheduled to April 2027, and the exact dates have not been published. Refunds through HK Ticketing were full, automatic and timed at 20 to 30 working days from 17 June 2026, so that money should have landed months ago.
The part worth knowing is what the refund does not take away. Live Nation states that people who bought tickets for the original date keep the right to buy first for the rescheduled show, through an exclusive presale on HK Ticketing and Damai in April 2027, with details going out by email. Getting refunded and keeping presale priority are not alternatives here. Keep the confirmation email from the 2026 purchase, because that is the address the presale will be sent to, and a refund notification is not the same message.
Post Malone has no equivalent arrangement on record, which is the practical difference between the two Kai Tak postponements. One refunded ticket buys you a queue position next year. The other buys you nothing.
What if the refund has not arrived?
All three schemes pay back to the payment method used at purchase, and that is where automatic refunds quietly fail. A card used in April, May or June 2026 has had time to expire, be reissued after a loss, or belong to an account that has since been closed. When a refund bounces off a dead card, nobody rings to tell you.
HK Ticketing's customer line is +852 3128 8288, open 10am to 8pm daily, and its email is online@hkticketing.com. Have the booking reference from the original confirmation email ready, along with the last four digits of the card used. Damai buyers deal with Damai's own customer service, and Trip.com bookings are handled inside the Trip.com account.
One more thing to check before you start chasing. Refunds for the Post Malone show cover service and delivery fees as well as the face value, so the sum landing in your account should match the total you were charged, not the ticket price alone. A short payment is worth querying rather than accepting.
What is left at Kai Tak this autumn
The stadium diary did not empty out. The Weeknd plays four nights of the After Hours Til Dawn Tour, on 24 and 25 October and again on 30 and 31 October, the later pair sold out and the earlier two added afterwards.
