Nathan Road isn't the first place you'd expect to find a season dedicated to sound baths, art therapy and talks on mortality, but that's exactly what Eaton HK has built with its Consciousness Festival. The third edition, themed "Commoning and Summoning All Possible Minds," spreads workshops, talks, performances, screenings and exhibitions across the Jordan hotel's event spaces from November 2026 into January 2027.

In short: Eaton HK's third Consciousness Festival runs across the hotel at 380 Nathan Road, Jordan, Kowloon, with confirmed sessions from 18 November 2026 to 28 January 2027. Expect sound healing and crystal-bowl workshops, a Hong Kong Ballet opening performance, neurodivergent-friendly cinema, talks on death and virtual reality, art-therapy sessions and two long-running exhibitions. Tickets are sold per session on Eventbrite, and the festival is open to the public, not just hotel guests. Book early — several workshops are capped at small group sizes.

What is the Consciousness Festival?

The Consciousness Festival is Eaton HK's annual season of programming built around the mind — how it works, how it heals, how it grieves and, eventually, how it ends. Now in its third year, this edition's theme, "Commoning and Summoning All Possible Minds," threads together workshops, talks, performances, screenings and exhibitions that touch on consciousness, mind-body wellness, neurodiversity and mortality.

It's the kind of programming that sets Eaton HK apart from a standard hotel calendar: sessions run out of the Music Room, Terrible Baby, Kino, Anita, Tomorrow Maybe and the Foodhall and Lobby spaces, turning much of the hotel into a rotating venue for artists, therapists, musicians and academics through the season. For readers who track Hong Kong's wider gallery and museum calendar, it sits comfortably alongside the city's other seasonal art exhibitions — just delivered through a hotel's own curatorial lens rather than a museum's.

Eaton HK has turned a Jordan hotel into a season-long meeting point for sound healers, ballet dancers, neurodivergent-friendly cinema and talks on how we die.

November sessions

The festival opens with two events on the same afternoon. On 18 November, from 11:30am to 12:30pm in the 4/F Music Room, "The Power of Sound and Crystal Singing Bowl" introduces sound healing through crystal bowls. That same day, from 2pm to 3pm in 4/F Terrible Baby, the Consciousness Festival Opening Performance brings Hong Kong Ballet dancers — including Lin Chang-yuan Kyle, Basil James, Sun Jia, Gouta Seki, Abigail Granlund, Feng Jingyi, Leung Chun Long, Wang Yueh Erica, Hu Song Wei Ricky and Zhang Xuening — together for three solo, duet and quartet pieces exploring love, death and grief.

The programme returns a week later on 26 November with two workshops: "E-Motion < In-Motion: Movement and Journaling" from 1pm to 2:30pm in 2/F Anita, and "Untie the Knot: Stress Release with Rope Art" from 3pm to 5pm in 4/F Tomorrow Maybe.

December sessions

December is the festival's busiest month. On 2 December, "Unlock Labels in Fault Zone: Mental Mapping" runs from 11am to 5pm in 1/F Kino & Kino Lounge, followed that afternoon by "Cinema for Neurodivergent Kids: Little Prince," a sensory-friendly screening with HASS Lab from 2:30pm to 4:30pm in 1/F Kino. The following day, 3 December, brings back-to-back workshops in 2/F Anita: "Writing Your Pain" from 11am to 12:30pm, then "When Sport Meets Art Therapy: Exploring Mobility and Inner Self" from 1pm to 2:30pm.

On 10 December, the day splits between a talk and a screening in 1/F Kino: "From the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying: Spirituality, Life, Creation," with speakers MC Yan, On Ying Lai and Joseph Chen, runs 1pm to 3pm, followed by the documentary "Psychomagic: A Healing Art," Alejandro Jodorowsky's film, from 3:30pm to 5:45pm. Two more documentary screenings follow at 1/F Kino on 16 December: "The Punk Syndrome + Punk Voyage," from 2:30pm to 6pm.

Performance artist July Weber features twice in December: "FightClub Dance X Music Improv" on 16 December, 7–9pm, and "Screenshots," a solo performance, on 22 December, 7–9pm, both in 4/F Tomorrow Maybe. The month closes with "Altered Holy Spirit Party," an experimental late-night event from DJ JasLin, on 24 December from 9pm in the 4/F Music Room.

January 2027 sessions

The festival's programming continues well into the new year — note that all of these fall in 2027, not 2026, even though the festival's own calendar lists them by month and day only. It opens the year with "Sunrise Nada Sound Bath Meditation" outdoors on 1 January, 5am to 8am. A talk, "On Virtual Reality, Society and Death," follows on 6 January, 7–8:30pm in 1/F Kino.

13 January is a double-header: "Sleep Talk," a workshop with Amy Tsien and Eve Bliss, runs the evening before on 11 January, 7–9pm in 4/F Music Room; then on the 13th, "Somatic Workshop: Rediscovery of Body, Mind and Memory" with Vivian Wong runs 11am to 1pm in 2/F Anita, followed by a screening of Jeremy Shaw's "Quantification Trilogy" from 7pm to 9:30pm in 1/F Kino. The next day, 14 January, "A Trance Journey: Travel without Traveling" with Chan Ting takes place outdoors from 3pm to 5pm.

The festival's confirmed calendar closes on 20 January with two events at 1/F Kino: a NOWNESS Asia selected shorts screening, "Tread, softly," from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, and a public talk on "The Universe in a Tip" with artist Pak Sheung Chuen and Dr Joanne Wong from 2:30pm to 4pm.

The exhibitions running all season

Alongside the dated sessions, three long-running exhibitions anchor the festival. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", a photography exhibition by Au Tze Long and Ho Yuet Dong, runs in the LG Foodhall from 8 December 2026 to 28 January 2027, daily from 11am to 10pm. In the G/F Lobby, "The Universe in a Tip" — work by disabled artists Tang Kai-yang (in collaboration with SAHK), Tang Chi-wai and Yung Cheuk-kwok, presented via HASS Lab — runs from 14 December 2026 to 28 January 2027.

July Weber's "Screenshots" exhibition, a performance archive with sculpture and costumes, opens in 4/F Tomorrow Maybe from 23 December 2026 to 28 January 2027, daily from 11am to 9pm, extending the two live "Screenshots" performances earlier in the season into a standing installation.

Do you need to be a hotel guest to attend?

No — the Consciousness Festival is open to the public. Eaton HK has built its identity around blending hospitality with social-impact programming (it's part of Eaton Workshop, the hotel brand with a sister property in Washington DC), and the festival is a public-facing extension of that, not a guest perk. Anyone can book a session through Eventbrite regardless of whether they're staying at the hotel.

This isn't the first time Eaton HK has opened its doors to the wider city for a cultural season — the hotel also hosted the UNHEARD Sound & Music Festival in July 2026, a now-concluded event that gives a sense of how seriously the hotel takes music and sound programming outside of this festival. If you're the sort of reader who plans a calendar around Hong Kong's hotel-hosted culture, it's worth also checking our guide to the city's best boutique hotels, several of which run their own smaller cultural programmes.

How does this compare to past editions?

This year's line-up follows a festival that has grown each edition. The second Consciousness Festival, reported on by the South China Morning Post in November 2025, ran from 8 November to 7 December 2025 and was structured around three themed weekends: "Conversations x Community," "Wellness x Performance" — led by experts including Gedvile Bunikyte, Jessica Lee and Clark Cheung — and "Market x Workshop," which included kombucha brewing, incense making and indigo dyeing. The festival originally began as a three-month event.

That background is useful context for how the festival has run before, but it's distinct from this year's confirmed line-up above — the third edition drops the weekend-theme structure in favour of single dated sessions spread more thinly across a longer November-to-January window, with a heavier emphasis on neurodiversity, art therapy and mortality as through-lines. Readers who enjoyed past editions' wellness focus may also want to bookmark our roundup of Hong Kong's best meditation and mindfulness studios for a year-round complement to the festival's seasonal offering, and dance fans can cross-check the city's best dance performances for how the Hong Kong Ballet's opening piece fits into the wider season.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much are tickets to the Eaton HK Consciousness Festival?
Pricing is set per session and sold individually via Eventbrite, so costs vary by workshop, talk or screening. Check the festival's own page on eatonworkshop.com or Eaton HK's Eventbrite organiser page for the current price of each listing.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Workshops in particular run in small, intimate groups with limited capacity, so booking ahead through Eventbrite is strongly advised rather than turning up on the day.
Is the festival open to non-hotel guests?
Yes. The Consciousness Festival is a public programme open to anyone in Hong Kong, not just Eaton HK's overnight guests, with sessions ticketed individually through Eventbrite.
When does the 2026-27 Consciousness Festival run?
Confirmed sessions span 18 November 2026 through 28 January 2027, with two exhibitions running as long installations across that window and single-date workshops, talks, screenings and performances scattered throughout.
Where is Eaton HK and how do I get there?
Eaton HK is at 380 Nathan Road in Jordan, Kowloon, a short walk from Jordan MTR Station. Most festival sessions take place across the hotel's 1st, 2nd, 4th and ground floors.

Good to Know

Several of this festival's workshops run in small, intimate groups — think a dozen people or fewer for sessions like the rope-art workshop or the somatic bodywork classes — so they tend to sell out quietly rather than dramatically. Check each individual Eventbrite listing for its specific capacity and book as soon as a session is announced, especially for the free outdoor sunrise sessions, which have limited spots and an early start.
